Sychem Group, a leading manufacturer of water systems, entrusted us with the important task of recruiting top talent for two of its subsidiaries: Sychem, an industrial company with production lines in Crete, and Yfantis Engineering, a design firm specializing in electromechanical studies for major projects like hotels and hospitals.
Our mission was to find specialized engineers across two distinct sectors – production and design – for roles such as MEP Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, and Site Engineers.

Challenge
Sychem Group and Yfantis Engineering faced the challenge of filling key roles such as Electrical Engineers, MEP Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, BMS Engineers, and Site Engineers.
The task was far from simple. With production lines located in Crete and design projects based in Athens, the combination of geographical constraints and the high demands of these positions made finding the right candidates particularly complex. linq stepped in to tackle this challenge, leveraging its expertise in engineering recruitment and its proven track record in sourcing top talent, delivering a fully tailored approach to meet the client’s requirements.
Solution
To address Sychem Group’s needs, we developed a targeted recruitment strategy that combined industry expertise with decisive action. Our process began by mapping a pool of 1,700 qualified candidates within the Greek market. From there, we actively reached out to 819 candidates, prioritizing profiles that aligned closely with the specific requirements of the roles. Over the course of three months, we conducted 26 interviews, taking the time to understand candidates’ expectations and thoroughly evaluate their skills.
When working with Yfantis Engineering, we went beyond conventional recruitment methods. We mapped 65+ construction consulting firms in Athens to target experienced professionals more strategically. At the same time, we broadened our scope beyond Athens and Greece, launching international campaigns to attract professionals globally, capitalizing on the trend of engineers returning to Greece.
Through close collaboration with Sychem Group, linq delivered an efficient, results-driven process, ensuring high-quality outcomes within a tight timeframe.
Results
Despite the challenges of Crete’s limited job market and the high demand for Electrical Engineers across Greece, linq delivered impressive results. In Crete, the client reviewed two strong candidates and successfully hired an Electrical Engineer from the local talent pool.
In Athens, the design office evaluated 27 shortlisted candidates with expertise in building projects. From this group, five candidates received job offers, resulting in three hires by February 2024. For the remaining two roles, filled in November 2024, the selection came from a smaller, focused pool of three shortlisted candidates, achieving an impressive 67% success rate.
These hires went beyond simply filling positions—they strengthened the team with three highly skilled professionals, two of whom brought unique backgrounds: an expatriate Mechanical Engineer returning to Greece and an Electrical Engineer from Cyprus.
