Elval, the aluminum rolling division of ElvalHalcor and part of the Viohalco Group (also known as the Stassinopoulos Group), partnered with linq to recruit top Electrical Engineers for their aluminum production operations.

The mission was clear: securing top talent for the roles of Electrical & Electronic Maintenance Engineer and Electrical Commissioning Engineer in Oinofyta—positions requiring specialized skills, technical expertise, and highly driven candidates.

As a leader in aluminum production, Elval needed a recruitment partner that could deliver results—and linq rose to the challenge. With tailored strategies and industry expertise, we achieved targeted hires that boosted Elval’s team and demonstrated linq’s strength in high-performance recruitment.

Challenge

Sourcing specialized Electrical Engineers for the industrial sector is an ongoing challenge in the Greek job market. Εven if there are 9 Polytechnic Schools that offer degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, many graduates turn to software development or pursue further studies abroad, leaving a limited pool of talent.

On LinkedIn, there are only 1,800 Electrical Engineers with 1–5 years of experience, and even fewer work in the industrial sector. Elval faced these same difficulties. Its location in Oinofyta –  a location far away from the main city centers, combined with the technical demands of an industrial environment, added complexity to the search, requiring a highly focused and strategic recruitment approach.

Solution

We started with a focused search for candidates based on the role requirements, by thoroughly mapping the the available pool.  We identified 1,500 Electrical Engineers in the Greek industrial sector. From this pool, we reached out to 535 professionals with 0–8 years of experience and conducted 40 interviews over three months, carefully assessing their skills and understanding their expectations.

At the same time, we enhanced our efforts by posting the job openings on linq’s platform and social media, supported by targeted outreach through our network of specialized recruiters. Working closely with Elval’s HR team, we ensured a streamlined and effective recruitment process that delivered outstanding results.

Results

Our approach delivered exceptional outcomes: of the 11 shortlisted candidates, 4 received job offers, resulting in 3 successful hires—a 27.28% success rate. This achievement was no coincidence. We carefully managed every step of the process, from identifying the right candidates to offering personalized guidance, ensuring they not only met the role’s requirements but were also eager to join Elval’s team.

Despite the challenges posed by the industrial sector and Elval’s location, we proved that our methods excel, even in the most demanding recruitment cases.
