Pricefox is one of the fastest-growing insurance comparison platforms in Greece. Founded in December 2020 and headquartered in Paphos, Cyprus, the company enables consumers to compare insurance coverage and prices for car and home insurance from leading insurance providers, completing the entire process in just a few simple steps. Its growth has gained international recognition, with Pricefox being named one of the Future Fifty European Insurtechs, while also being backed by the Antenna Group and Samlino Group.

As part of its strategic expansion into the energy sector, filling the Sales Consultant – Energy position became a business-critical priority. This role extends beyond customer service responsibilities, playing an active part in developing the company’s new energy comparison business. For an organization that has established a strong position in the insurance market and is now expanding its portfolio of services, attracting professionals with proven sales experience and the ability to succeed in highly competitive and price-sensitive markets is essential to executing its growth strategy.

The challenge

Pricefox needed to hire a Sales Consultant – Energy, a role supporting the company’s new business activity in electricity plan comparison. Unlike positions focused exclusively on the insurance sector, this role required a combination of consultative sales skills, an understanding of the energy market, and the ability to communicate effectively in a highly competitive environment.

Although Pricefox has built a strong and recognizable employer brand, recruiting for a specialized position within a new business area presented a different set of challenges. Professionals with the required combination of market knowledge and relevant experience do not always apply through traditional recruitment channels.

Under these circumstances, successfully filling the position required a recruitment strategy that combined inbound candidate applications with targeted sourcing and proactive outreach to professionals who matched the desired profile. Ultimately, the successful hire came through the targeted sourcing process, demonstrating the value of proactive candidate outreach for specialized commercial roles.

The solution

The collaboration began with a comprehensive walkthrough of the linq Sourcing+ platform, enabling the Pricefox team to make full use of its candidate search and management capabilities from day one.

Beyond providing access to the platform, the linq team actively supported the recruitment process by creating curated candidate shortlists and targeted searches, making it significantly easier to identify professionals with the right commercial background for this new and highly specialized role. Throughout the engagement, the team also provided continuous support and recruitment guidance, responding promptly to every request from the company.

As part of the recruitment strategy, we recommended that Pricefox contact interested candidates without delay in order to maintain their engagement in a competitive talent market. During the hiring process, 28 targeted outreach requests were conducted, resulting in 10 positive candidate responses, while the company also received 12 inbound applications through its job posting. The recruitment process concluded successfully with the hiring of a Sales Consultant – Energy, who was ultimately identified through the proactive outreach process.

Results

The recruitment strategy combined two parallel candidate acquisition channels. On one hand, Pricefox received 12 inbound applications, while 28 targeted outreach requests generated 10 positive responses. Although the inbound applications created an initial pool of candidates, the successful hire ultimately came through the proactive outreach process, highlighting the complementary value of targeted sourcing for specialized commercial positions.

Hiring the Sales Consultant – Energy strengthened Pricefox’s commercial team during a period of strategic expansion into the energy market. The role supports the growth of the company’s new business activity, contributing to effective customer service and the continued expansion of its energy services portfolio. For organizations entering new markets, timely recruitment for critical commercial positions plays an important role in successfully executing their growth strategy.

Conclusion

The Pricefox case demonstrates that even companies with a strong employer brand and an effective inbound recruitment process may require a different approach when hiring for new or highly specialized positions. In this case, combining inbound applications with proactive candidate outreach enabled the company to expand its talent pool and identify the right professional for the role.

The collaboration extended well beyond providing access to a recruitment platform. The linq team actively supported the hiring process through curated candidate shortlists, targeted sourcing, and continuous guidance, helping Pricefox identify the right talent more efficiently. For organizations that already attract candidates successfully through traditional recruitment channels, proactive sourcing serves as a complementary strategy, expanding access to professionals who are less likely to be reached through job advertisements alone.
