In the rapidly evolving world of FinTech, the need for developers with up-to-date, specialized skills is growing faster than ever. To meet the demand, Mellon Technologies partnered with linq to launch an innovative Bootcamp that ran successfully for two consecutive years (2023 & 2024). This wasn’t just another training program – the FinTech Development Bootcamp gave young professionals the tools to build cutting-edge skills and kick-start their careers in tech.
Challenge
Mellon Technologies was looking for developers who could make a significant impact – professionals skilled in Java, Android, and .NET, but also adaptable enough to quickly integrate into the company’s culture. Finding this kind of talent, however, proved to be a real challenge. Many candidates lacked either the technical skills or the level of readiness needed to thrive in such a fast-paced, high-demand sector like FinTech.
Solution
To bridge the gap, linq launched a paid, 6-week Bootcamp designed to train and prepare the next generation of developers. The program combined intensive, hands-on learning in cutting-edge technologies with real project work and full immersion in Mellon’s company culture. Participants were selected through targeted recruitment by linq. After the intensive training, the participants completed the Bootcamp by presenting hands-on individual projects – making it easy for Mellon to spot the strongest talent in the group.
What started as a learning initiative quickly turned into a strategic hiring pipeline, delivering a team of developers ready to contribute from day one.
Results
The FinTech Development Bootcamp delivered immediate impact, strengthening Mellon Technologies’ team with developers fully equipped to meet the demands of the FinTech space. In total, the program attracted 628 applications. Of those, 38 participants successfully completed the training, and 21 were hired directly into Mellon’s team – bringing expertise in .NET, Java, and Android.
The developers who joined Mellon through the program were already well-acquainted with the tools and culture, enabling a faster onboarding process and immediate contribution. The Bootcamp also reinforced Mellon’s reputation as an employer that truly invests in developing emerging talent.
Conclusion
The FinTech Development Bootcamp helped Mellon Technologies meet critical hiring needs while also strengthening its reputation as a company that actively supports young professionals. More than just a training program, it turned challenges into opportunities – building a team of talent fully prepared to take on the demands of the FinTech industry.
With linq’s support, Mellon redefined what it means to invest in emerging talent and we’re now gearing up for the 3rd consecutive edition of the FinTech Bootcamp.
At linq, we’re committed to delivering innovative solutions that bring talent and companies together – creating partnerships that reshape what’s possible in the world of recruitment.
